Text Bullets

Are there alternate keystrokes for generating text bullet points and other alternate characters, when composing/editing text in the media generator?

Like . easy financing only with a bigger dot centered on the line of text?

I'm cutting on a MacBook Pro running Windows XP if that makes a difference. I used to be able to do this on another Mac but it was running MAC OS 9.0 and keyboard alternate strokes were a MAC Command (apple) function.

Try "ALT+0149"

Press and hold down the "ALT" key, while typing the 4 number code on the numeric keypad. When you release the "ALT" after entering the numbers it should drop in the character.

A couple others I use.

0149 = •
0169 = ©
0174 = ®
0153 = ™

Something occurred to me. The above only works if you have a numeric keyboard on your keyboard. I am not familiar with the Apple keyboard, but if it does not have a numeric keypad, here is an alternate way to enter the special characters.

From the Windows desktop. Go to "Start->Programs->Accessories->System Tools->Character Map"

Make sure the font matches what you are using in Vegas.

Double-click the characters you want to copy. Pressing the "Select" button will place the characters in the "Characters to Copy" box.

Once you are happy, press the "Copy" button.

Then move to your application and put the cursor/caret where you want the characters to appear and then paste them into the application.

Kludgy, eh? That is why I learned the numeric entries. :)
