Text Crawls

How does one do text crawls across the bottom of the screen in Vegas 7?

I thought the credit scroll function would be the way, but it doesn't offer a choice for left or right direction of the scroll. And trying it in timed mode, which does offer left and right directions, only lets me put one page of text and no further.

Use a plain old regular text event. Type as long a message as you wish. Set the length duration at the top of the window as long as you need it to be. In the placement tab drag the text to the right until it's out of the frame. Move to the end of the text event, set a new keyframe, and drag the text to the left until it's out of the frame on that side.

On the Vegas timeline drag the text event out to match the duration you set for it.

I went to jetdv's site last week, after someone had recommended it. My son and I are both *very* new hobbiests to video editing (he's far better than I am), and the newsletters on jetdv's site have been tremendous.
