text events not rendering

just started noticing this after not using VMS since like April. on both new and existing projects, the text events don't display the text associated with it. this has never happened before and the text in the existing projects used to work just fine. this is the first major bug i've found in the software and have no idea what could be causing it. any ideas? possible conflict with other software maybe?
i run VMS Platinum v11 build 322 on Win 7 ..

Make sure you don't have the text track muted.

Can you give us a screen shot of your Vegas timeline with one of the text events open in it's editing window? Can you post a very short simple .vf file that has the problem for others to look at? Make sure you tell us which version of Vegas you're using, as we'd only be able to open your .vf file in that version or newer ones.

hopefully you can view png files.

notice that the default text ('Sample Text') is there but it doesn't display in the event in either the media bin or on the timeline.

I use the same build of 11 as you but on XP and looked at your pic, the only thing I can't duplicate is the Elephant font. But it works for me. Is the behavior the same with other fonts?

Have you tried the (Legacy) Text media generator to see if that works? If you're not doing anything fancy with the text then the Legacy version should be all you need.

However, if you're going to add Animation, then you've got a problem.... do a "titles text" search and you'll find several topics on the subject with v11 animation issues.

Are you Win7 32-bit or 64-bit? Prolly doesn't matter but just asking.

Legacy Text did work for me (thx) but i never had to use that before since Text and Titles had always worked in the past. just doesn't now for some reason. are there specific applications you know of that may conflict with vms? something like PhotoShop or LightRoom or maybe a video capture app like ArcSoft's TotalMedia Extreme? all 3 were installed on my PC since the last time i used vms.

Hard to say. Not that I've heard before. You could try uninstalling VMS then reinstalling.
