text in background

Hi gang,

Here's what I have:
Some nice footage with leaves in the foreground (in focus) and gravel path in background (out of focus).

Here's what I want to do:
Put some text on the background "behind" the leaves in foreground. As the wind blows the leaves it releals some of the text behind them.

I've been masking my brains out trying to get this to work. I've been creating masks using the Secondary Color Corrector method and the black/white brightness/contrast invert method. Too much movement to use Bezier masks frame by frame.

I have to admit masking/compositing is still dark magic to me.

Any help appreciated.

How about re-shooting it. With leaves on a chroma key background?

Jeb,
I would also add that it doesn't have to be the same leaves or atmosphere ...
you shoot the new leaves on green screen and blur then entire older video ... make even the leaves in the foreground become the background image and use your new footage as the foreground ...
Then you have the two layers you need to make your effect...

Good luck with it and give us a peek when you're done... (grin)

Until that time ... Earl J.
