Text in DVD A

Hi guys----finally got around to using DVD A and for what it is it does an excellent job. I have a question though. I want to have a link so that someone can view a resume on one of my DVD's. I have tried scanning with an OCR program, and saving as a Tiff---unfortunately it isn't clear enough to read on the screen. Does anyone have any ideas or am I trying to do something that can't be done effectively.

Well one problem straight away, if they are going to view it on a TV with a composite video feed it's going to be pretty hard to read text, on a good day TV is good for about 500 lines of resolution, read 500x400 pixels. With RGB feed to the TV you can get pretty much the full DV res but thats still not enough to put a page of 12 point text accross the screen and read it comfortably.

You could increase the point size and make it readable but you're going to have to scroll it so they can see all of it unless it's very short. I'm sure with more creativity than I have it could be presented effectively, maybe parts between something else but I'd also make certain than had a printed copy as well, maybe just a condensed version on the screen.

You could I think include a text document on the DVD that they could read in a PC as well.

If you are going to put a document on a DVD that people will have to read on their TV screen -then you will either have to zoom in on the document...or tell your viewers that they need to zoom in on the document.

Most (if not all) DVDs have the ability to zoom in....so doing so allows for your text to become readable.

However....I don't think that is such a hot idea.

What may be better is to build a presenation of your resume (with big bold text...perhaps some animated graphics - maybe a voice over)...then they can play that instead and it just looks good.

Depending on what job you are going for....you are mixing mediums...and that doesn't go over too well.

Or think of it like this - although they could includde a copy of the original script for the Wizard of Oz...I'm not going to read that bad boy on my TV scrren.

However, if I were at work reading it on my computer screen (or on a website) that would be different.

Hope that helps.

Thanks---I realize that Kamerronj's idea is probably the best--Just thought I would avoid the typing--
