Text Intros

Hi all,

I haven't used Pro 13 for a while, so am a little rusty. :-)

Are there some free or paid for plug ins, templates or such like that would allow me to have lots of sentences flying toward the viewer, with lots of overlaps, and possibly in different parts of the screen.

I've tried using Sony Titles and Text using the Coming at You template, but it doesn't seem to let me speed it up nearly as quickly as I would like. It comes with a default duration of 10 seconds but only seems to let me get to -7.13.

Any thoughts would be most appreciated.
Thanks
Colin B

T&T, correct. No control of the animation. You can do something like this Track Motion. A lot of work. Free plugs? Dunno.

I'm now using NewBlue Titler Pro 4. Lots of templates and chock full of Templates.

ProType should be able to do this. It's UI is different, but you can manipulate & animate on the character, work, line & text body level, so you should be able to do this.

You can adjust the duration from the default of 10 seconds to whatever you want it be by changing the value in the "Duration" at the top of the Titles and Text dialog box. I just changed it to 2 seconds and it works just fine. You'll just need to adjust the length of the media clip to match the length you set (there will be little triangles in the clip indicating loop points).

1. Adjust duration by changing "Duration" at the top of the dialog box.
2. Adjust font size to get more text on a layer.
3. Adjust "Location" to position movement origin. You can also click the little clock in location to change the location over time to get finer control over the screen position during the text movement.
4. And, of course, stack as many layers as needed to get density you need. With each layer being so quick you can also reuse layers as their content "expires."

Do you mean something like this?

I do a lot of slideshow animation for import into Vegas using Proshow Producer. Not exactly cheap, but well worth it if you're serious about stills animation, including moving captions.

Actually ProShow Gold by Photodex is all you really need. Lots cheaper than Producer. Bring sequences into VegasPro and if need be use them in combination with New Blue titler or the internal ProType Titler for extra ordinary efx.

1) Outsource to a CG person in far east, and have them deliver what you need over night to a drop box folder.

or

2) Build a key framing project using 3-d track motion, then use that project with small alterations in other projects.

Many thanks for all your suggestions.

It's great.

Hey Jim,

This works for me, at least for now. Am working on a just enough just in time theory
:-)
