Text mask overlay

I'm working on a menu and using "text mask overlay" as the highlight for my text. I have a different color set depending on active or inactive.
To get the spacing between the text buttons to look right they need to be fairly close together. Problem is the box size is substantially larger than the text with a large space above and below - this makes the active color set "bleed" onto the top or bottom of the text above or below it.
I've tried using transparancy and color set for inactive text.
Is there any way to reduce the size of the box but maintain the font size? Any other way to keep the active color set from encroaching on the inactive text button?

Try this - By default the font size is AUTO, so the font resizes with the box. Change the font size to what you want, then resize the box.

Another option will be to do your titling in Vegas - render it out to use as a background for your menu. Then just put empty text boxes sized how you want over the background titles.

if the text is too big and overlapping other links, simply right click and delete the problem text and insert new text which will appear at the correct size, then you can resize the font yourself.

Thanks for both replies.
I've tried to resize the text by specifying the font size but as soon as I resize the box, the text switches to auto and the font size changes. I wanted to use the DVDA text so the text colors would change when selected - is there a way to accomplish this if the text is done in VV?
randysdrums - the text is the right size, it's the text box that is too big.

Thanks again.

Scott - ahh...you already answered my question in your previous post. I should read more thoroughly :)
