Text Preset Problem

This happened in the middle of a production edit.
One of the text presets was put to the text line. It shows fine. But the drop-down menu won't appear no matter what I try. So I've got a draft text message which I can't edit. I have tried:
1 Closing down the program and reopening - same problem on the problem .vf file, and I opened a couple of others and put up the text preset with the same resul;ts - frozen
2 I reloaded the program in "Repair" mode - no change
3 Searched the knowledgebase here, no similar problem.
Anybody got a hunch what's happening?

What drop down menu? I honestly don't follow. If you want to edit the text, right click to the media in the timeline and select "edit generated media"

Here's a little clarity:
When I right-click on the media, the menu does not give me an option "edit generated media"

Still no symbol on the text preset so I upgraded the version on that computer to Platinum 8C and it runs fine. Issue closed.
