Thank you NYC

Thanks to all in NYC that showed up for the Sony Showcase and VASST training events. Dang, what a fun-filled day. Congrats to the winner of the opteron at the Sony event, we'll be giving another one away tonight in Dallas, and one in Phoenix as well.
The afternoon Sony event was prettywell SRO, with the house packed. It was wonderful to see a couple Avid guys and one FCP guy just drop their jaws at what's there. This event really shows the power of marketing, simply because other NLE's tout themselves as the best, while Vegas does everything they do, and usually a lot more, when compared as a software tool. This show also has a heavy focus on audio, and ProTools users are flabbergasted to see what can be done quickly in Vegas.
Hope to see some more of you in Dallas, Orlando, Phoenix, Toronto, Honolulu, Seattle, and Atlanta. I think that's all the cities left on this tour....where am I today? :-)

I was at the evening Sony event. Afterwards, I saw the Sony Electronics representative corned by a group from a local production company there. I think he was going to redo his studio soon. He wanted to know how much Sony was behind Vegas, how they were going to promote in NYC. He kept saying, if they had a traing space in NYC, he would be all over Vegas. The Sony electronics guy kept saying, "We're behind it. That why we're having this event. We have only been on this project since January.

The production folks had a lot of skepticism, but almost all of their questions, could be answered with "Yes, Vegas does this." Or "Yes, Vegas 4 did that."

I suspect they are going to take the plunge.

I was at the afternoon NYC event and the training. It was great to meet Spot, BusterKeaton, and others in person. Spot really had the AVID users jealous at the afternoon event. He dropped HD, 24P, 60i, and two animated GIF files on the timeline at same time with PIP’s and variable opacity, etc. and the whole thing playing back in almost realtime. (it actually was in realtime before he added the HD). Like Spot said, their jaws just dropped. You gotta love it.

Thanks Spot for an outstanding two days.

Hey guys...

I have to say that the NYC seminar was great. Nice to see spot and mannie again and it was very cool to meet busterkeaton and johnnyroy in person. This event completely blew away the last Vasst I went to for V4. The room was pretty cool. Almost as cool as seeing for my very eye's the mackie controlling V5 parameters!!!!! ;)

To anyone sitting on the fences thinking if its worth it to take the plunge and go I say DO IT! You will not be sorry.

The best part about the seminar for me was that I won a Bella Dv keyboard for Vegas. I can hardly wait for it to get here!!! ;) There was another keyboard given away plus some other prizes. I think one was a ADS data tank external kit?
