Well done!

A communication like your "Media Generator" goes a long, long way with me.

Others can speak for themselves, but I can say,

Best Regards, keep up the good work,

Graham "Grazie" Bernard

I'll second that! (and actually, I'm the second message, so the seconder is second...mere coincidence?).

Brilliant!

Thank you for making this offer available.

Much appreciated, SCS!

+1

YES! This is what we want from a software company!

Now that is what I like to see. Very professional of SCS. And not the kind of communication you get from the three big A's, I might add.

Thanks Sony!

Will watch for the update.

Thanks SCS, and thanks for posting a release date for 9.0b.....It makes planning so much easier!

Great job!

I love this too. I never understood why companies in general are usually so reticent to have communication with their customers. Just a paragraph can do wonders to ease some of the pressure. Think about it. Why not get a reputation for being the only NLE that "cares" about its customers?

Thanks SCS - this kind of info/help is HIGHLY APPRECIATED!!!

Yes, there are those people that can and will use such information against you, but those are just a (stupid) minuscule minority.

Real professional users appreciate this kind of straightness and honesty. Keep it coming, it just makes everyones life easier.

The mushroom principle (keeping people in the dark and even throwing some shit upon them) is never very lucrative...

I thought there was a minor earthquake last night but turns out it was a techtonic shift in the software industry.
Early reports indicate the epicentre was in Maddison, USA.

Well done SCS, I know it was a difficult decision to take but look at the responses, look at how it's changed the vibe.

Don't know how anyone can use it against them though.

Bob.

You need something to communicate. The problem is not necessarily being unwilling to communicate. It is more the lack of anything to say to the customers, that will not strike back.

Anyhows - thanks a lot SCS for this information! Much appreciated.

Thanks Sony - I will finally start using 9.0 for all my projects with this new release - the upcoming date announced is very helpful! Looking forward to leaving 8 behind and moving on.

Hats off to all of you at Sony! Even though we users get upset at times, most of us are very much in your corner. Continuing great communication like this in the future will build great trust.

Guys, this was a boneheaded programming mistake that potentially affected everyone and caused many people to lose hours worth of work, they kind of had to say something!
Grazie wrote on 8/13/2009, 8:46 PM
Yes, but they DID announce it! And THAT is the difference . . . and why I am still with Vegas and the work that is being done in Madison.

And to echo Bob, on the seismic analogy, the Earth did kinda shift.

this goes a long way …I don’t know of another NLE that produces so many updates ,staying up to date with current trends with such creative ease, at a good price

personally my favorite NLE……and then some!

What's all this about?
I haven't received any announcement.

did y'all get it via e-mail, or did you find something posted on a Sony website?
earthrisers wrote on 8/13/2009, 10:52 PM
Oh, THERE it is... a "sticky" announcement, but buried down kind of deep in the Forum, instead of sticky at the top where Sony announcements usually appear.
ushere wrote on 8/14/2009, 12:03 AM
hey earthriser, are we on the same forum? ;-)

(at the very top stickies....)
farss wrote on 8/14/2009, 12:23 AM
Same forum matey, just that we see it upside down so it falls to the bottom of the page :)
