THANK YOU SonicFoundry/Sony !

The Vegas 5.0 is a MUST-HAVE-DREAM-COME-TRUE product. Finally.
I just have a few questions, like : don't you plan to bring back the good ol' v3.0 timestretch algo? I don't find any improvements in this area. How to assign the +/- buttons to do the same like ACID? My setup not doing the shifts. And isn't there a chance to directly assign the "reverse" to a key (especially Ctr+R for my taste), not using the right-click-press-R ? (btw. when i press the "reverse" on a newly dragged-dropped sample the take is empty. I find the reversed take BEFORE my placement, by sizing the take. )
Oh, and the most important to me : are the TIMELINE HORIZONTAL ZOOMS locked by facory to Up/Down keys? I prefer R/T 'couse my right hand is on my rat (trackball), the left presses the keyboard. ('m right-handed.) I hate to move my hands, atough i'm using the zoom a lot..

If i can't get answer i'm still impressed. Fantastic JOB!

Thanks for listening to the Vegas-Users!

w!

You might want to try the new mappable keyboard feature out. You can pretty much customize Vegas to work however you want.

Hi Rednroll!

Actually i did it. That's why i asked. I don't find the items in the list (overviewed many times) or not workig (+/-). Would you help me to set up the ACID-like transpose step-by-step?

Thanx.

It doesn't do an automatic "transpose" function like in Acid, because it doesn't have a master key signature available in the Vegas properties. It has an automatic "tempo" matching feature as in Acid and then you can alter the pitch.

1. First you need an Acidized loop setup
2. In Vegas goto FILE>PROPERTIES>RULER, set up the master project tempo.
3. When you drop your acidized loop onto the timeline Vegas will automatically look at the tempo you have defined, and then calculate the timestretch on the Acidized loop to match your project tempo.

If you right click on the loop/event and select Properties, you will see the Time/stretch method set to "ACID". In my opinion there's a couple things wrong with this right now, in that if you change the ruler tempo, the acid loop tempo/timestretch doesn't get updated with this, it remains at the old tempo. So you need to first set the tempo in the ruler settings, then drag the loop into the project. Also, if you set the time stretch method to "none" and then change it back to "ACID", there's no "recalculate" feature to have Vegas do an automatice recalculation of the Acid timestretch, so you need to delete the loop and re-import it back into Vegas for the calculation to happen.

You can use the "+" and "-" keys to change the pitch, or actually the "=" and "-" keys as shown in the keyboard short-cuts.

I think you're right in the "Reverse" function, I can't find a way to assign this to a key either.
