Don't anyone even bother trying to tell me this isnt a Digi AD

Besides the lies and BS and misinformed spiel, there is a deeper ugly in this. THIS industry which they seem to want to shut down is what gave Digi life in the first place. Traitorous bastards.

And about the premise of the article: Am I to believe that people's houses have all the mics necessary to handle whatever source may come up?
Am I to believe that everyone's house has a control room that will be able to monitor accurate mixes that will translate to everyone else's listening environment?
Am I to believe that everyone's house has a proper and versatile recording accoustic environment to record whatever may come up?
Am I to believe all the other auxilliary and ancillary pieces needed to make an album exist in everyone's house?
Oh and one SMALL thing I guess: Am I to believe that every house contains someone with enough experience to RUN this stuff in a pleasing way?

right

Realizing that I am only one small ant, a peon, a burr in a cog that is the great wheel of this industry, I still make this oath and solemn promise:

NO product made or marketed by Digidesign, shall ever again enter my studio.

NO project originated on or destined for a Digidesign product will enter my studio

Better for me to starve now, than slowly be drained watching the industry I love and the people in it, sucked dry by these ungrateful traitorous scum.

Amen, brother!

Being a game developer, I have developed quite an allergy (but also some blasédom) towards shotgun journalism claiming to have just discovered the latest "tricks" of the trade.

Apart from what you just listed, they make it sound as if ProTools is a "studio magic" box, that anyone can use it and that it was invented yesterday. Not to mention that they make it sound like EVERYONE runs ProTools, which is far from true. Most people I know use Mackie HDR systems, for example.

What a bunch of BS. Feed the stupid reporter a story and he takes the day off.
Get Pro Tools and you're suddenly a genius.

Just think of how much crap is recorded daily on Pro Tools. Or Vegas. Or Cubase. Or tape....

One wonders if a decent mic or preamp might have anything to do with it...
Or a mastering studio...
Or a decent set of producer's ears...

ummm... he was sitting down with Butch Vig! one of the most almighty producers of all time, and implies that any person even if completely talentless can be made to sound good by anyone with pro-tools. Doesn't he think that Butch is a talented producer?

These people make me laugh.

I had a band phone me up today: "We hear that recording with you might be cheaper than buying an eight track"

I didn't stifle my laughter.
