As I usually do after attending a VASST seminar, I want to post about what a great experience it was.
This is not just about VASST but also about how it strengthened my faith in Vegas as a great HDV NLE.
That is why it is not marked OT

Those who have attended know ,but for those of you who who havent had a chance , be it location or you just werent sure it would be worth while. I can tell you that just as this forum is a great asset for improving your skills and knowlege, the VASST seminars are another truly great oportunity to learn and network with others.
This seminar focused on HDV and not just for Vegas users, as a matter of fact there were people from all over the spectrum.FCP,Avid users as well as pro-camera guys that use F900's & Varicam's etc. all interested in finding out more about HDV.
As a funny side note, this was not geared strictly towards Vegas users, as a matter of fact you could tell that Mannie and Spot had specificaly tried NOT to emphasize Vegas. They were trying to address the entire HDV field.
What was amusing was there were many people asking questions regarding how to perform certian tasks with HDV. Many of the answers depended on wht NLE they were using, and the bottom line for many of the answers, was Vegas performed them best and easiest. (fellow Vegas users like myself and Keith Kolbo and others in the class would kind of smile as Spot would try answer as diplomaticly as possible)
I had to laugh because the truth is Vegas does do HDV better than so many NLE's out there. And even though Spot did not want to make the class focus on Vegas when it came to the handleing of HDV in post, it was clear to me that many users of other NLE's questions would invariably lead back that way. Spot did a great job of keeping it on track, but as a Vegas user it made me realize even more how lucky us Vegas HDV users are.
Thanks again Spot,Manie and Heath from the Palm Beach Film School for a great day. And again to all of you that have ever been on the fence about attending a VASSSt seminar, get off and go! The cost of the class is returned ten fold in many ways.
