Thanks for the Veggies!

Inspired by a recent thread, I visited Spot's Sundance repository of .veg files for the first time in a while, and raided it pretty hard.

So, let me say thanks to everyone who contributed stuff. There are some excellent templates there. Lots of stuff ready to go, just add yer media; lots to learn from, just investigating how they were put together, real-world examples of stuff you read about in manuals... Everybody learns in different ways, but sometimes it nice to be able to just dissect an example file, particularly this new-fangled 3D parenting stuff.

Amazing what you get with a file that's only a couple Kbs and an instantaneous download.

Lots of scripts, too.

Particular thanks to Spot for hosting this stuff, and for your "floating boxes" veg, which I'm using in a family video. Great way to dress up a collage of stills.

Here's the link. I can't remember if you have to register or not (I think I registered and got a cookie long ago...)

Steering back on topic, I also say thanks to Spot and the Sundance folks. I had an emergency need for a lower third (and I suck at ALL graphics apps), so a template was what I needed - and there was one on the Sundance site that had a cool motion gradient thing going on that worked perfectly. Just don't try to fit two lines of text on it w/o testing on the safety zone. I learned the hard way, ouch. But no big deal. Thanks again!

While we're doing the 'back pats' thing, thanks to EVERYONE who continues to contribute to the VASST resource site. We've held a buncha contests, but haven't "officially" launched the VASST site yet, as we're holding out the real launch of the new site for a fun new contest, some new offerings, and some new interface features.
BTW, if you have some suggestions for what you'd like to see the VASST site do, let us know. The site is intended to be a community resource, with nearly 500 training tools, tutorials, reviews, scripts, etc. All of which have been contributed to by members of this community.
but...be sharpening your creative veggie heads, as a new contest is about to be launched. If you're already a registered user of the site, you'll be receiving an email about it quite soon. It'll come with the 'official' launch of the VASST site even though it's nearly 6 months old.
