thanks to everyone for this forum

I just wanted to post a thank you to everyone here.

This forum, and MS3.0, has really been a great experience. As a former Pinnacle user, I was often frustrated by lack of support, buggy software, and a general feeling of "what the heck did I spend my money on this junk for?"

MS3.0 and the excellent advice here is truly what using a great product is all about.

Happy Holidays and Merry Christmas to everyone here!

Hey, mmreed, I felt the same way as you when I started up MS 3.0. The book that came with it and the on line helps didn't cover a great many things, from advanced techniques, to basics such as how to add a clip to an existing time line with out everything overlapping (impossible without the help from other through the forum). While the forum is very helpful, it's too bad Sony didn't see fit to provide adequate documentation with MS 3.0. Incidently, I still use Microsoft MM to do some titles. They have built in title animations that Screenblast maybe could do after an hour of fiddling (such as embedding a photo in a newspaper front page, or a drip animation simulating runny paint, etc). Again, too bad MS 3.0 didn't include a bundle of basic title animations, but forces all animation to the time consuming. albiet more versitle, advanced screens. Eats up a lot of time.

mmreed, I second your comments. I too am a Pinnacle Studio defector. In just 1 hour of working with MS, I was able to add a previously captured avi file, add some transitions, title screens, some still images using the pan and zoom feature ( well worth the price of MS alone).. canopus charges almost $200 for their program to do this. My only problem was that the audio proxy failed after I added the avi file to the time line. It said I didnt have enough memory. 1GB!!!! that should be plenty I think.
