I went to B&H in New York to test-drive the AGXDV100 in 24p advanced; I was a little disappointed in the quality of the camera.. any unbiased thoughts?
What do you mean by quality? Do you mean plastic like? This I would agree! But the
"tool" itself is awesome! I have spent many many hours researching the best camcorder
for the price and you know what? nothing beats this camcorder. Go on google and do
a search on "AG-DVX100" and read read read! I am going to be buying this camera
as soon as NAB is over with this weekend, just in case any other camcorders come out
or the price of the AG-DVX100 gets lowered.
I have a DVX100 and also a Sony VX2k. Very briefly- both are nice cameras, neither is perfect. 24p certainly gives you a different "look" but if you only have prior experience with video, you will have to re-learn how to shoot film-style to avoid jerky-appearing motion, pans, etc.
