"The audio will be compressed on track 1"

I originally edited in Sony Movie Studio 12 with the rendered files passed to ArchStudio from Movie Studio. None of the original audio or video has been changed since the last pass from Movie Studio. All the previous DVD test burns did not have the message.

Does this warning message really mean anything seriously wrong?

It means you did not render a DVD Architect compliant audio stream in Vegas, or it was muxed with the video. Architect expects separate, compliant streams.

Movie Studio 12 rendered two separate files: .mpg for video and .ac3 for audio, using the Make Movie process for Burning DVD, and passed it straight to Arch Studio 5. I doubt Movie Studio renders non compliant audio for Arch Studio using this process.

I more suspect that some sections of audio where the Movie Studio sound meter pushed into the red zone for very brief periods is a possible cause.

No, DVDA does not scan your audio levels.
Post the MediaInfo readout for the rendered ac3.
Try importing the video into a new DVDA project, not Make Movie. The audio should follow. With DVDA Project Properties set correctly, does it work without recompressing the audio?

It may be the background audio I added to Main Menu. I just added background music for the two scene selection menus, and get two more "audio will be compressed" messages for those tracks. These tracks were about 3 minutes each.

Yes, menus and any associated media will always get rendered. They couldn't exist otherwise. Best of luck.
