The new pro 16 look.

Mervin-Louque wrote on 11/21/2018, 7:09 PM

Please forgive me if this has been addressed, and if it has I would appreciate being directed to the posts. I recently updated to Vegas Pro 16 and personally I'm not crazy about the new "kiddie" looking symbols. I thought the older versions had a more professional look. Even clients wonder if it's really a pro software. Wish there was a way to revert to the 'classic' look. Sorry Magix, just my opinion.

"Even clients wonder if it's really a pro software."

What you work with is not their business. They pay you for the end result, not for using (or not using) a specific tool.

If you edit you videos with a hexeditor because you can calculate the bytes of the encoded video in your head - why do they care? They need the video you make for them.

Am I wrong?

We're talking cross purposes. I don't care what clients think of my tools, but I do just prefer neutral rather than colourful little blobs around when I'm editing.

I don't understand.… you guys know that you can change the display preferences to change/desaturate icon colour if you want?

Rainer wrote on 11/22/2018, 8:26 PM

Why no, I didn't know that! Done. Thanks Kinvermark. Vegas, I love you more.

Well Kit, you may edit in a room by yourself but I don't. The majority of my editing is multi-cam, 4, 5 + cameras and often done with my clients as they like to be involved in the process of picking shots. They've done the same with editors using Final Cut or Avid systems and notice the 'different' look.

im stuck in v14 (modded with color icons from v13). can't stand the new interface.

feels like the guys that make the new interface can't possibly use vegas, or they would see the new interface is a PITA.

shame i don't have the new features of newer vegas :(

@malowz

How do I make the Vegas Pro 14 icons colorful like the previous versions?

JJKizak wrote on 11/25/2018, 7:55 AM

My opinion is that people who like the black and white icons always take two steps to accomplish one result.

I also assume (very dangerous) that "SPOT" would agree.

need to modify the resources of the main exe file. but as forum rules, can't talk about that
