the preview window shrunk, and I have no idea why

there's nothing else to it, the windows shrunk when I exited, and I don't know how to resize it back to it's original size. tried googling it, had no luck.

Unfortunately the basic non-Platinum version of Vegas Movie Studio, lacks a lot of controls and cannot be customized. If you did upgrade to the Platinum version, you could go to View/Window Layouts/Default Layout, and this would restore the desktop.

There is only one way to fix your problem.
You need to reset the program.
