The Program Will Not open

I was so excited to receive this program (Movie Studio 8.0a). Installed without a hitch but it will NOT open. Just freezes when the stage "INITIALIZING UI is reached.

I noticed that the file "Vegas Movie Studio 8" in my Documents And Settings file is completely empty. Nothing there at all except for the name. Hmmmmm. (On the other hand Architec Studio is there and has the program in it. ) The reason I looked is because one of the fixes suggested I go there and change a file but it is empty.
Hmmmmmm.
Any suggestions? please?

Uninstall Vegas, and then uninstall your antivirus. Reinstall Vegas and then reinstall your antivirus. That is my advice.

You may try to patch up to the latest version of 8 (maybe 8c or 8d, not sure) from SCS's web site. Make sure that you have all the prerequisites for VMS 8 (e.g. DirectX, Quicktime, correct version of .NET framework, etc.). Finally, open a support case with SCS and have them help you out.

Let us know what the problem was & how you solved it.
