The program won't fit?!

Question number four: We're trying to burn our program onto the disk. (I think we're using +R.) Two things are happening: First, the DVDA tells us that it has to compress the program (which seems to diminish the quality). Second, it's not putting on all of the files. The total program is about an hour long. Can we not burn a DVD that's that long? We have to get the whole program onto a single master disk for replication. I'm not sure what to do! Help!

If you rendered the project using a DVDA template in Vegas, and the total size of all of your individual files doesn't exceed 4.37GB, then it should fit on a single disk and DVDA should not be recompressing.

When you add up the sizes, you need to include the MPG files and the AC3 files as well as any file sizes associated with your menu (for example, if you have a motion menu).

One hour of material should be able to easily fit on a DVD. As far as not putting on all of the files - you're going to need to be more specific, DVDA takes your source files (MPG's and AC3) and creates VOB and IFO files that contain your original files. If you are trying to build some sort of hybrid disk where you have files other than VOB/IFO, then DVDA won't do that - you need to use something like Nero to burn.

Okay, this is probably a lame question. When we are in Vegas and about to render our program--before it goes to DVDA--which format is best to choose?

Should it be this...

MPEG-2, DVD Architect NTSC Video Stream

?

Yes, MPEG-2 DVD Arch NTSC (I assume you are in NTSC-land) Video Stream is perfect.

Also check disc size in preferences menu to make sure it is set to 4.7
