"The selected folder is not valid"

If I try to prepare any DVD project to any folder (including the default one), I get "The selected folder is not valid. It is either not possible to create the folder or you do not have write access."
In short, I'm using the Vegas movie studio 7 bundle for XP, on Vista, under Win2k compatibility mode. Might there be a simple all purpose solution for this problem, or was I just an idiot for expecting too much from "compatibility mode" and should just get the newest Vegas (though reluctant)? Note: I've searched, and only one other person has reported the same problem, with no indication of use on Vista.

Thanks!

I found a few posts from Vista users with the same issue (though not necessarily with VMS 7). You might not have set your search to look past six months.

Try running the program as an administrator (even if you're already logged in as one). If that doesn't work, try reinstalling it as an administrator and then running it as an administrator.

THANK YOU! In the icon's properties I checked "run as administrator" or something. Again, THANK YOU!!!
