HERE HERE!
plus the additional plugs like gearshift and FM!
Wholy Crap! If it weren't for my "day" job I'd be glued to my computer for a week or two with all the new stuff. Gonna order the Vic "Light it Right DVD too.
Just trying to figure out if I should have a John installed in my chair and an IV Drip for this weekend!
Gonzoman wrote on 4/18/2005, 6:34 PM
Hahha - The Vic DVD was one of my purchases today. I also picked up the Sound Forge DVD and Spots DVD called "Now Hear This" to help me learn more about getting good audio for my video projects. I also picked up his Vegas 5 DVD cause I'll prolly be using V5 for a while - it does everything I need it to but I know it does more than I know about :)

I went to buy Gearshift, but could only get to a shipped out version, which almost doubles the cost - is it available as download?
Spot|DSE wrote on 4/18/2005, 10:02 PM
Peter, I'm not sure what you're looking at...we don't have a "shipped out" version. The *only* way you can get Gearshift at the moment, is to download it.
With the NAB-SAVINGS discount, Gearshift (and the other value line tools) are $20.00 each.
Gonzoman/Epirb, don't know what to say, very kind words for Mannie and T.J. I've passed this along to them. Gotta toss Jason Abbott and John Rofrano kudos as well.

Thanks - I'll have another go then Douglas - last time it asked for my postal address and said shipping would cost $15.

Well, I did it again. I first went to www.vasst.com then to Products > Plugins, clicked "Buy Now" under Gearshift, got the discounted price, then went to Checkout where it asked for my address and added $15 for shipping.

Is there another route?
Wolfgang S. wrote on 4/18/2005, 11:06 PM
Same for me: it askes for 15$ for shipping - and that for a download??

Peter/Wolfgang, we're looking into it now. Something must have discombobulated with the code, we've got a couple things running in the background as we move towards an easier, faster, and smarter shopping cart. We should have the fix shortly (tonight or first thing in the a.m. MST)

I'm experimenting with the Trial version of VASST's Stillmotion.

I put a group of photos on my video track and place markers according to the rhythm of my audio track.

When I run the script, the "Randomize" checkbox has no effect. Whatever transition is selected in the pulldown menu, that transition gets applied 100% of the time, regardless of whether Randomize is or is not checked. (I also tried selecting "none", along with Randomize, and then 100% of the clips got NO transition...)

I also determined that it's not possible to select "Randomize" WITHOUT selecting a transition from the pulldown list (the Randomize checkbox goes inactive if you don't make a selection).

Is there a way to actually activate "Randomize"?.
epirb wrote on 4/19/2005, 3:06 PM
I believe "randomize" is used when you have more than one transition selected to apply ie: page curl +crossfade+slide left
+etc.
Then instead of applying those effects in order over and over it will randomly apply the order of those effects.
least thats how I use it in Ultimatte S.

I'm sure this has been addressed before, but I cannot find it.

Are any of the standalone tools NOT in Ultimate S? If you have Ultimate S, do you have them all?

David

Douglas - glad to say that VASST allowed me to pay just for download today - all installed and working.

Looking forward to finding how many fps widescreen DV will play at ......
Spot|DSE wrote on 4/20/2005, 7:43 AM
FM is currently not part of Ultimate S, and Gearshift is not part of Ultimate S. Otherwise, you have the majority of the tools. And we're not done with Ultimate S, either! :-) But we had to save SOMETHING for the Vegas HDV tour....

Spot,

On Monday, I purchased and downloaded both GearShift and FM. A few moments later I received an e-mail from VASST giving me the Registration Key for GearShift. I received a second e-mail from VASST which was apparently supposed to have contained the registration key for FM, but after the words" Registration Key" in this e-mail it was blank. Thus I have no Registration Key for FM. I have written VASST Support twice and phoned and left an e-mail, but apparently everyone from VASST is at NAB since I have heard no response from anyone at VASST. I am writing to ask you to check this when you return and see that the Rgistration Key for FM is sent to me.

Gear Shift is a great addition to the plugins for Vegas just as Ultimate S and all other plugins that I have purchased from VASST. Thanks to all involved in writing these plugins.

Thank you.

I purchased Gearshift - I tested the trial before, and I think that Gearshift is a great tool really.

And now it works without transportation costs too.

Epirb...
Thanks for the note about selecting multiple transitions in UltimateS.
Looks like there must be a bug in StillMotion, because it's not possible to select more than one transition at a time from the pulldown list.
That means, in effect, that there's no way to get the "Randomize Transitions" feature to work.
I'll drop by the VASST Store every now & again to see if they fix it; obviously I won't buy StillMotion at this time.
Spot|DSE wrote on 4/20/2005, 8:09 PM
That's not a bug, that's a *feature.* :-)

Seriously, the version uploaded as the trial was somehow displaced when our server went down, with the original beta. We'll remedy that shortly, as soon as I can get to the newer version. Thanks for your patience. With NAB happening and all of our sessions....some things have slid a little. We'll catch it up in the next 48 or faster.
