If you want it to look really amateurish then those little thermal printers are the way to go. They only print one color at a time in a small strip. Your also restricted to using thermal printable DVDs as the screen printing on many DVDs can cause you problems if you try to put the thermal ribbon over the edge of the screen printing.
I've nothing but positive feedback from using inkjet printing although if I get the work to justify the expense I'll be looking for a good thermal printer but they cost big time as does the consummables. If you want the real Hollywood look deinatley the way to go, I've seen one that outperforms screen printing but ouch, the price.
They don't look especially pretty or anything, and they're mainly text (you can do graphics, but with one colour, why would you want to?) but it does its' job. :)
>>Don't forget about that $99. Epson R-200, recently available from New Egg for $89. and near free shipping. It is an Inkjet, but that price.
That's getting very close to the cost of the first full cartridge replacement. It's getting pretty obvious that they are emulating the shaving razor buisness model.
This one actually looks a little better than the Casio ones, 2 more print areas, spins the disc by itself so you don't have to worry about lining it up again. Still has very limited capabilities though.
