These 30 second pauses for minimalizing Sony Vegas

Every time I minimize my Sony to go look into a file folder, or to look at a site browser, and then when I come back to my sony vegas, there is ALWAYS this damn 30 second wait, where you see the hourglass icon indicating I must wait.

So far this is the most aggrevating thing about the Vegas, what is the deal?

De-select "Close media files when not the active application" in Options > Preferences > General.

What are your system specs? How much memory? You're prolly swapping memory from RAM to Pagefile on the HD. Do you have a lot of HD activity when changing between apps?

Don't minimize, just Alt-Tab to change active apps.

MSmart, the de-select close media option you mentioned works perfectly. THANK YOU SO SO MUCH, this pet peeve being fixed is a great relief.

I'm glad that worked out for you. While you're at it, DVDAS has the same setting.

If you haven't restarted your PC in a while, now is a good time to do it.
