Thin Green Lines

A silly question; nevertheless, here it is:
What are those thin green lines intersecting my timeline in random places. My guess is they have something to do with former regions which I install and delete randomly as work progresses. How do I take advantage of these remnants of something, for they must serve some useful purpose?

If they're showing up in the event itself, they are media regions that were originally set in the Vegas Trimmer, or, if you are using nested .veg files, in the Vegas timeline when you made the original veggie file.

For media files, open 'em up in the Trimmer, and you should be able to manipulate them, rename them, etc. then hit "save to media file." Or, if you prefer, you can set the Trimmer to automatically save markers and regions to the media file as you work.

For veggies, open 'em up in another instance of Vegas.

There are some free scripts on the VASST site that will let you promote the media markers or regions to the timeline.

Thanks, Brian.

I almost missed your reply. The formatting of this forum is a mystery to me ... when do certain threads get highlighted, when not and why etc.

Nevertheless I seldom use the trimmer, never use nesting and have never hit "save to media file" but I'll watch my steps carefully to see if I might be doing something like that.
