Things never learned in school

While not not that new to the video production market, as I try to grow and expand my capabilities I find that there are areas where I lack the necessary knowledge. One of which is how to render broadcast quality from Vegas 8. I have a 30 second cable commercial spot (my first for broadcast) to produce and I obviously want it to be right. I shoot on a Z1U. Any recommendations about the render?

I also have a spot I shot on HDV that will be played following a film in a theater. Any ideas on how best to render for quality playback on a 40 foot screen?

Thanks

for broadcast, as long as it's "broadcast legal" (local station SHOULD fix if it isn't but odds are don't bother) you just need the specs they want. Some like mpeg-2, some want beta, some want mini-dv. They should have that info no problem (I always preferred beta/miniDV/DVCam/DVCPro as I could control the volume levels easier when encoding to mpeg-2)
