This bug will never be fixed?

I'm trying out V6 and am having the same problems I had with V4, V5 in regards to wierd frame problems. Example:

I bring ten clips on the timeline as straight cuts. I start trimming the clips with the ripple mode on using my mouse and the number key trim buttons. I then try moving from edit to edit using the Ctrl+Alt+arrow and everytime I will get some clips that have an extra half frame or something that has been added. This happens with Q. Frames on or off.

I can't believe this has not been fixed and can only assume that it is unfixable because it is very easily repeatable. Has Sony ever make a definative statment on this issue and whether they acknowledge or plan to get to the bottom of it?

StormMarc, are these DV clips captured by Vegas?

Yes.

I've had this happen, but it's because the Q-Frames feature only snaps to frames. If something is not an even frame length it will still be not even.

I've never had it effect anything though.

Another reason might be sampling issues of the audio which might be due to a camcoder defect or somtimes a change of the sampling rate from one shot to the next.
In these cases many NLE get problems. It is then not a Vegas issue but a camera issue.

Except of being based on bad audio sampling rates I never had that problem.

Perhaps it's my workflow but I experience this all the time when I use the ripple mode and the number trim keys. Did you try my example? I can repeat it every time.

I'm using Sony Cameras (PD-150 and VX-2000) and have never had this problem with any other NLE. It's related to the whole frame issue in Vegas (flash, black etc.) and something I and others (according to this board) have been dealing with since V4.

One problem this one causes on the affected clips is not being able to drag an envelope without first going into number trim mode and trimming a frame which seems to solve the issue.

I have not used V6 enough to know if they have minimized the other frame issues (black, flash etc.). Vegas is in so many ways an advanced product but trimming frames is such a basic NLE issue I can't see why Sony will not prioritize and fix this.
