Three clicks at the beginning of each new clip when playing from timeline

Has anyone seen this problem before? When I play back multiple back-to-back clips from the timeline, at each clip transition point I get three clicks, about a half a second apart.

More specifically, these clips are made when the audio mutes itself for a split second (you can see the audio dip down in Vegas' level meter).

Any way to get rid of this issue? I've heard nothing but good things about Vegas and want to join the party (I'm demoing 4.0c), but this is quite a stumbling block.

Some more details, including a list of my relevant system components (in my Profile), are available in this Creative Cow thread:

Hmm, didn't get any response to this post here, but I did get some helpful emails from Sonic Foundry's Matt Logan.

I've posted a followup to the Creative Cow thread with the latest on the problem:

The short version is that the clicks are apparently a bug in Vegas 4.0c. The only way I was able to get rid of them was to downgrade to 4.0b.

hey are you ever seeing the play cursor going backwards when these happen ?

Sorry for the delayed reply, Pipeline -- lame that the Sonic Foundry forums don't have a feature to email you when people follow up to your posts like the Creative Cow forums do.

In any case, I don't have 4.0c installed right now to double-check, but no, I didn't ever notice the cursor doing any nonstandard movement during these mutes. Why, is that something you've seen before?

In any case, Matt Logan from Sonic Foundry was finally able to reproduce this bug, once he realized he should be testing on the release version of 4.0c rather than the later build they have in-house.

As I mention in this Creative Cow post:

Matt says that 4.0d will contain this fix and is currently being prepared. He says that after 4.0d, "no updates are planned for quite some time", so if anyone's been holding back on any bug reports, better get 'em in now!
