I still use Windows Vista on my desktop for big rendering jobs (smaller jobs on a Win7 Laptop). But I still can't see the little thumbnail pics for AVCHD(MTS) files in Vista. Is there a way to activate the preview image like in Win 7 which does it by default?
Thanx for the response but I didn't find anything in the link that tells me how to view the preview image in a file in Vista. I've been simply dragging my HD files off my memory card from various HD Canon camcorders and into folders in Vista. They work fine in Vegas but that's the only place I can see the little thumbnail preview image. I'd like to be able to see a hint as to the contents of each file in explorer.
Windows Vista does not have built in support for AVCHD like Windows 7 does. It is possible to get thumbnails and playback support working. You'll need to install a codec and maybe a registry key or two. Here's a couple links that might help you get started:
