Thumbnails animation duration

I have two DVD projects where in the main menu and submenus I use animated thumbnails pointing to chapters. When the menu/submenu appears for the first time the thumbnails are animated, but when the control returns from the chapter to the menu/submenu the animation stops. I now have observed that if the menu/submenu stays for more than 5 minutes on the screen without user action the thumbnail animation stops. It has something to do with the length of the chapter clip playing in the thumbnail window. Has anyone else encountered this problem? Help is welcome. Thanks in advance.

For the menu, do you have the End Action set to "Loop" vs. "Hold"?

Default settings is "Hold", which means the playback will stop after the playback length expires (How long the playback lasts is set by the playback length; default settings are "auto determined" and typically are set by DVDA to 30 seconds, though possibly it is determining it to be longer in your case.)

Also in my experience, the animation will continue to play even after the video moves beyond the marker for the next chapter. So the length of the chapter clip playing in the thumbnail window does not stop the thumbnail playback, as you stated.
