Thumbs up for 9d 64 - so far

Just a short look at 9d 64 and here is what I saw:

+ AVCHD files start preview playback immediately, even from slow USB drive
+ Nested projects bug in 9c 64 is gone!!!!! (When using alpha channels), I have been using 9b 64 because of this¨
+ White balance FX - love it!!!
o Project load time - no difference
o No probs loading MXF files, as someone has reported

All in all - good to have my 64 bit Vegas back again!
I will install 9d 32 later, I hope is performs as well

On my wish-list for version 11 is first and foremost:
* Track folders, like in Cakewalk Sonar (put tracks in folders to tidy up my workspace)
* Shortcut key for "render as"

I agree. Vegas Pro 9.0d has been very good so far. I'm loving the PSD import. This just rocks!

Don't you mean version 10? (why wait 'till 11)

Ditto. We have 'em in ACID, let's get 'em into Vegas. This would help with multi-track compositing to clean up the timeline. In the mean time, I use Nested projects for this.

You already have this! Goto Options | Customize Keyboard... press the Global button and scroll down to File.RenderAs and assign it to any key you'd like.

I just had a thought about this. I assign all my tracks to busses. Now how about collapse / expand all tracks assigned to any buss. Maybe via an icon in the buss fader. Anyone else like this idea?

Bob.

That's not a bad idea. What might be nice is an alternate view where Tracks are shown under Buses like the Compositing Child tracks do under the parent. That would integrate the Bus view with the Track view which is currently separate. Then you could collapse the bus and all tracks under it would hide.

I like it too. I had a project with 10 tracks of text besides 4 video and 2 audio , where it would have been a nice feature. I reduced the hight to min. but still this would have been better.

Oops you are right, it is 2010 that confuses me..

You already have this
Dang - yes, I can customize shortcut keys here, thanks!

I am glad to find a thread where at least some people are happy. The other 9.0d thread is a massacre! I don't know why these people are having problems, but I am having none of them. Ver 9.0d works great. I am even getting better performance with AVCHD playback than before with "c".

Wilgen,
folks here have different environments, and different settings and different ways of working.
I am glad that we got an update that is free! For my part, I really like 9d 64 because AVCHD playback starts immediately. I could not use 9c 64 because of trouble when rendering nested projects using alpha channels. I suspect this problem is related to some AVCHD issues, that now have been fixed. Who knows. Regardless - 9d works well for me so far. And has some niceties to boot.

ok, cleared the decks and installed both - 32 bit mainly for wave hammer and mbl.

so far everything going like clockwork.

opened a recent project that had hdv / avchd on two tracks (32 bit) with dissolves, cc, wave hammer and stuff. opened fine, played like a dream - fractional pause before playing full frame rate (auto), no stutter on dissolves.

opened above in 64 - error re mbl / wave hammer, to be expected. played flawlessly.

so far so good.
