Thanks, Looks like Adobe Premiere works with XHA1 but can it work from Firewire to Thunderbolt. Theres not much info out there on Thunderbolt

I doubt it. HDV and firewire and somewhat non exclusive. If you need to transfer footage from a HDV camera you will need a Firewire port, such cards are rather inexpensive and easy to get.

If you had a Mac, Apple makes a Thunderbolt to Firewire adapter. I have no idea if it will work on a PC.

As OldSmoke recommended, just get yourself a Firewire PCI card for your PC.
