Many thanks Donald T for your reply and its interesting when you say Vegas should not act like this for the timeline . I think that in frustration I have buggered about so much with various settings that its caused the timeline anomalies. I'm going to try to default all settings back to the manufactures and see what that comes up with but thanks once again.
