.tif support???

I recently scanned in some fairly hi-res pictures, saved as .tif, and then tried to import them into Vegas (4.0c). It gave me an error stating that the file was an unsupported format. Any ideas as to why this is happening?? I know there are different compression options with .tif, could that be the issue?

TIF requires AUTHORING components of quicktime 5.02 or above to be installed. Do a custom installation and select everything.

Thanks! Now I remember hearing about somewhere before (must be this old age creeping up on me...). I will try that at home tonight to see if that fixes my problem.

Oops! I spoke too soon. Last night I downloaded Quicktime 6.3, and did a custom install where I selected the authoring components. After reboot, Vegas still claimed that my .tif files were an unsupported format.

I am just using the free version of Quicktime -- do I need the "pro" version? Any other ideas?

Help please! I really don't want to go through the pain of converting all my images to PNG just to incorporate them into Vegas.

You Don't need the PRO version but you DO need to select EVERYTHING (NOT just the authoring components)
