I am wondering if there is a way to copy the formatting of a text you wish to animate without changing the text in every instance of the copied text box. I've searched everywhere and can't find an answer to this question.

It's not exactly clear (to me) what your question is. You can give each text box the animation you prefer, it's not necessary to start from a predefined animated text template and change it's text.
