Time Code in Audio Script?

It is possible to have a script insert time code on the audio events like you can with the video? I don't mean BITC on the video display output but timecode references on the timeline audio events. This becomes a big deal for me sometimes as I feel like I'm flying blind with some of my audio editing.

Scripts cannot read media, either the audio or video. Thus you cannot read timecodes, video VBI information, date, time, header info, etc. Too bad, because it would be very useful.

AVISynth can do all of this and more. It is free. It is also a geek's tool. However, if you are a geek, you'll probably be able to do what you want using AVISynth.
