time countdown

Hi,
I need to output my video with a time countdown at the start and also have it inserted at three points in the timeframe. I assume it would just be a media generator template like the colour bars but I can't find it in Vegas and no reference to it apart from export to dv tape in the leader and trailer section but that does not help with inserting it within the video timeline.
Is there an additional media generator that does not come with the basic Vegas software? Or am I just missing something?

This may be of use:

Count Up/Down Sports Clock

It shows how to put a clock on screen anywhere you want and have it count up or down, with any precision. It uses the timecode generator that Spot suggested, but shows how to combine it with various Vegas tools to get the precision and placement you want.
