Time on DVD

I have a 3.5 hour project. Should I plan on using two DVDs or should I be able to squeeze 3.5 hours on one DVD? The source quality is good. Thank you, Bob K.

Assuming 192Kbps AC3 audio and no complex menus, to get that much material on a single layer DVD, you'd need an average bit rate of 2,700 kbps - which is pretty darn low. Splitting it across 2 DVD's you'd need an average bit rate of 5,600 kbps, which while low, is probably ok , especially if you do 2 pass encoding.

When you render from Vegas, click the customize button; one of the tabs for video encoding has 2 pass. Vegas 6.0 and later only please.
