Time shift events

I have three video tracks with multiple events on each track that have to be kept lined up perfectly with each other. I have to insert a three second event midway along the time line, but keep everything else lined up as before. I know I can right click on an event and select "select to the end", but that only works on one tract. How can I make a selection to the end across multiple tracks and move them exactly three seconds? Also, is there a way to move selected events a specified time amount instead of using the number pad to move frame by frame? I'm using vms hd plat.10

I think I figured out how to select across multiple tracks from a specified point. Hold down the control key and select the first event to the right of the point in question on each track, then right click on one of those first events and choose select to the end. I can move everything by dragging, but how can I specify how much time the entire groups needs to move(to order the group to move three seconds to the right as they stay lined up in their selection)? This would be more accurate than dragging.

Normally i would suggest using ripple editing as this is a lot easier than trying to select a bunch of events. But, since you say you want to insert exactly 3 seconds, the simplest way is to put the cursor where you want the insert to occur, then Edit / Insert time, and type in 3.

If any events span the insertion point you may want to press S to split them first before doing the insert.

Thank you very much. That is exactly what I wanted to do. I didn't know you could do that, but was hoping you could.
