after applying a timecode to a clip (not the timeline) how can i adjust it so when i make a cut, the second half does not start back at 0 seconds? I want the timecode to remain while editing.
any suggestions?
that shows how you can create timecodes that go up and down, and which do not reset when you cut. The approach I use keeps the clock setting correct, even if you cut out the middle. By that I mean that, if you have a clock on a track meet race, and don't want to keep all eight laps of a two-mile race, when you cut out the middle laps, the clock at the end of the race will still have the correct time at the finish.

Did you apply the timecode to the clip in the MEDIA POOL or while it is on the timeline?
IF you apply it to the MEDIA POOL, it will not reset to 0 at a cut.
