Timecode display for trimmer

bakerja wrote on 12/7/2002, 10:46 PM
I come from the old school where every source monitor in the house had a tc display. I am trying to simulate this with the timecode fx but am having trouble displaying the source timecode from the trimmer. I have applied the timecode fx to the video preview window and it works with every track in the timeline, but it doesn't seem to work for the trimmer. Any ideas?

Thanks,
JAB

Hi JAB,

The closest easy TC indicator is the small window in the lower righthand corner of the trimmer.

Other than that, actual TC from the source clips is not easily visible in the image.

If you *must* have the TC window in the image, you may have to render it in, and use the "replace media" feature to substitute the original footage when the edit is complete. (not unlike using window-burns for offline, but conforming is much easier!)

Thanks Marty,

I found a preference that helps some. In preferences, video, show source frame numbers on event thumbnails as: Timecode. This works for the timeline, and trimmer, but I can not find a way to display tc from the trimmer in the video preview.

Maybe v4 will add this functionality!

Thanks again,
JAB
