File - Properties - go to the "Ruler" tab. It will tell you what the ruler is currently set to.

Or Right-click on the timecode above the tracks, and go to "Time Format...". That will also tell you what the ruler is currently set to.

the MP4 does not have timecode. Your original file might, but maybe not, depending upon how it was generated.

Tell them Drop Frame. That is the more accurate timing.

Additionally, on the Sony TC display, in drop-frame mode, there will be a semicolon ( ;) displayed to the left of the frame number. For instance 01:01:01;01, whereas non-drop will just have a colon ( :) ( 01:01:01:01)

Also, Drop-Frame is the most common.
