Timeline Cursor management in Vegas

Since Vegas5, Timeline cursor can be dragged. This is a very good thing.
But I still think it is too easy to lose the time selection when using Normal Edit Tool.
It would be more logical to make the time selection only on top of ruler. Clicking on Timeline would only change Timeline Cursor position, make Event selection, trim Event etc…
I can use the Selection Edit Tools, but with this mode Timeline Cursor cannot be dragged and Event cannot be trimmed, so i must to switch constantly between those two modes.
I am curious to know your opinion about Timeline Cursor management in Vegas.
Thanks

If you make a time selection, then click elsewhere, the bar on the ruler remains where the time selection was. Also, you can easily toggle through your last 5 time selections with the backspace key.

Not sure if that addesses your concerns.

Hi Gary,
it is precisely where is my concerns.
To keep Time selection, you must clic and wait to be able to drag Cursor.
If you clic and drag at the same time, you lose Time Selection (that often occurs when we work quickly).

But I just found a way to do exactly what I want :
I clic the Ruler with Ctrl key.
With this method, the cursor move and I can drag it at the same time. There is no risk to lose Time and Event selection. :)))))
