Hello,

I’m experiencing major performance issues with VEGAS Pro 23.
Whenever I interact with the timeline — for example when cutting, moving, or copying/pasting a clip — the software lags noticeably.
Each action causes about a one-second delay before the program responds, which makes basic editing and derushing extremely slow and frustrating.

Playback and preview, however, are perfectly smooth.
The lag only happens when I interact directly with the timeline (cut, move, copy, paste, etc.).

Here’s my setup:

CPU: AMD Ryzen 9 9950X 3D

GPU: NVIDIA GeForce RTX 5090

RAM: 64 GB DDR5

NVIDIA Studio Drivers: up to date (latest version installed)

All my footage is in 4K, and I’ve already generated proxies to improve performance — but it doesn’t make any difference.

I’ve searched online, read several forum threads and tutorials, and tried various settings, but nothing helps.
I’ll also attach screenshots of my current configuration settings so you can see if anything looks off.

For reference, I never had this issue on VEGAS Pro 16, using the same workflow and similar footage.

Do you have any idea what could be causing this, or which settings I should check or adjust?
