timeline stamps

I have a couple of questions, think I make each one a new topic. Thanks in advance for any help :-)
Here is my first one:

Is there a way to deactivate the timeline stamps on the video track so there would be only the bare bands for indicating a clip?

I just started to reformat a video hd (which was still in FAT32) into NTFS, so I'll check your advice later.

I'm really nervous now. I would like to start a deep exploration of VegasVideo but I'm forced to finish some editing jobs first which will occupie my PC till end of last week. I downloaded three of your tutorials, curious to use them then.
