timeline timecode script ?

Greetings:

Vegas Pro 8.0c;

While I have added timeline timecode to the entire project, for client review, using the video output fx button in the Video Preview window, I'm inquiring whether a script is available to add timeline tc to all media?

.....I tried the script "add timecode to all media" in tools/scripting, but see that the timecode is source timecode.....in this case, source tc not of use since timeline includes various tapes with duplicate tc.

In what type of projects do you use added source tc; I'm thinking the footage needs to be un-edited and sequential...

I'm shooting Standard Def Mini DV..

Many thanks

Stan

I've never used the script in question, but looking at the source code it seems to simply add a video plugin called Sony Timecode to all media. Adding this plugin to the media will print out the media timecode, while adding it to the track will print the "global" timecode.

In other words, you don't need a script for this.

the script in tools/scripting/ add timecode to all media
adds source tc.....to my timeline

by global do you mean timeline tc ? and media tc do you mean source tc
if so, I don't see a way that the script adds different types of tc...perhaps I'm missing something ?

You are not missing anything. The script only adds timecode to the media in the media pool. That's all it does.

What JohanAlthoff was trying to say is that you don't need a script. Forget about the script.

Drop the Sony Timecode FX onto your video track and you're done. You will get the timecode from the timeline on your video. There is no need to use a script.
