Timeline window obscured by other Vegas windows

When I have several Vegas Pro 9/ 64 windows (Video Preview, Event Pan/Crop, etc) open, undocked, and overlapping the main (timeline) window and I click on the main window it does not come to the" top".

Therefore to see the main window I must move any overlapping windows out of the way to see the timeline. This is a pain.

Do I have some strange setting or is this a bug/feature in Vegas 9.0e?

Is there a work around?

Thanks,

Mac

What you are suggesting you want I would not see as a desirable behavior.

One of my most common editing situations is transporting and adjusting, with an fx or scopes window open but over one portion of the timeline. Having it disappear every time I clicked on the timeline would be an extreme aggravation.

You can size the main Vegas window and move the undocked window off to the side, if you wish.

2 monitors. Have the timeline on one and all off the floating windows on the other. I use saved layouts to switch between layouts for different types of work. I also use a layout where the timeline is stretched across both monitors which I find to be really handy for navigating a big project.

Yup, multi-monitors is your solution:

I've seen 19" LCD's as low as $170. I'd HIGHLY suggest getting one, it will pay for itself in more efficient work.
