Timeout not working w/Scene Selection Menu

I've inserted a Scene Selection Menu into my single-movie DVD project, and formatted it - 16 animated scenes with images+text in menu, six per menu screen. Looks great and works okay, except: I want it to show the menu for 20 seconds, then automatically play the first scene if there's no user input. So, I set the General Menu length to 20 seconds, Loop Point set to 0, then in the END ACTION, set Command to 'Activate Button', Timeout: 20 seconds, and the Button selected to the first scene's button.

I doesn't work- the menu plays forever, never times out.
What am I doing wrong? Thanks! Using DVD Architect Pro 5.0b.

Just tried exactly as you describe and it works as it is supposed to. Just to be sure, you did fill in 20 seconds (00:00:20,000)?

A Single Movie Project in DVDA does not accept menus afaik. It just plays the movie. Exactly how are you doing this?

1) I create a New Project-> Single Movie -> OK
2) then I OPEN a single .MPG media file as prompted.
3) then right-click on the medianame, and select Insert Scene Selection Menu
4) I select 6 links/page (this DVD has 16 scenes). It does the rest.

From this point I treat it as if it's just created a bunch of buttons automatically for me, and adjust them for size, to animate them, etc.

It all works great, except I can't get it to timeout after showing the first menu for 20 seconds and then play the first scene onwards.

This is my first project, so I'm a relative newbie. Any advice?

I thought I was putting in 20 secs, but I was using 00:20:00.500 instead.
How embarrassing! It works fine, as you say.

THANKS SO MUCH!

Ahh, now I see how you are doing this. Thanks for the education!
