Hi All,
How can I create a countdown timer with min:sec (0:00) in Vegas? I would like to create a 2 minute timer to be used in a workout video.
Thanks!
Jeff
-Open new project
-go to Media Generators, choose "Linear Black to treansparent"
-in the Media window that opens, pull down the black so you have a complete transparent clip (all checkerboard) . Close the window.
-insert the Timecode fx on the clip. Hor. and Vert. alignments at "middle".
-Use Cookie cutter fx, choose "rectangle" instead of "circle" default, and Cut Away Section (Method) to get fid of "frames" in counter. Use twice the fx (Cookei Cutter) to get rid of "hours" too. You'll have to tweak the rectangle with Size and position on the left of window to accomplish this.
-Render to "Default Template ( uncompressed) " . Click on Custom button, then Video thumbnail and be sure the Render Alpha Channel box is checked.
-Render...
-Now on the TimeLine, put that rendered clip on TOP.
-Right click on it in the timeline then choose Reverse.
-Right-click the event on T/L (the clip), then Properties..., then Media thumbnail then in the Alpha Channel menu, choose Premultiplied. Close window.
-Use Chroma Keyer fx on the event and with the eyedropper tool , click some black juuuust aside one of the numbers of this timecode to get rid of the black...
-reframe where you want it using Pan/Crop tool over the subjects track (on T/L) doing their stuff...
That should work and I'm sure there's other methods...
